Clayton has this great and fun personality and a complete zest for life! I’ve had the pleasure to photograph him a couple times now and every time we have a lot of fun. When my wife and I decided to recreate Hollywood icons in today’s market it was she who thought of Clayton as Paul Newman almost immediately. “He has that mischievous sparkle in his eye” she said. And I think we captured it here. CONGRATULATIONS to Clayton who is currently filming NCIS!
We embarked on a journey last year that had us combining the histories of Hollywood and Photography, both of what encompass our brand and our field. Each month this year we will showcase a photography piece from this project and tell you a little bit about it. Here is Miss Tracy Z. Francis who we transformed into the legend Billie Holiday. These photos were done in studio and required a look back into lighting and cameras of the time. We think she captured the spirit of Billie both on stage and the underlying sadness that surrounded the legend. This coupled with the mood we recreated gave us brilliant photos.
You made it through the year!!! Congratulations!!!! Evaluate where you’ve been and how far you’ve come. Have you followed the monthly challenge assignments? If so, you should find yourself in a better place then you were a year ago today. Remember, this industry is a marathon, not a sprint!! It takes time to cultivate authentic relationships and it takes time to learn the workings of the business. This month is typically slow for auditions so relax and watch old classic movies. Take time to learn some of Hollywood’s history. You will be surprised at how much there is to glean my studying these great films and the actors, directors, and producers who made them.
What will the new year bring for you? This is the month to get your ducks in a row before pilot season. Make sure your reps have all the materials they need to market you properly. Take a workshop or two and don’t forget to give back!! Find a way to spread good cheer. It can only do good and you never really know how where it can go. There karma things often find a way to come back in really interesting ways.
Remember ever this is an evolving business and growth..never stop learning! Never stop growing! Never stop dreaming!
We hope you enjoyed the challenge assignments this year of 2012. In 2013 we will bring you a new monthly series. If you have thoughts or ideas of what you would like to see us blog about, comment here or feel free to connect with us via email, twitter, instagram, and Facebook. All the best to you this holiday season!!
Jen and Josh of JT Pro Imaging
The Old Hollywood Icon Project began with an idea last spring. It started as a simple thought of how could we really showcase our ideals and value as a company. We at JT Pro Imaging as a company, stand for what we stand for as individuals. We value authentic relationship. We enjoy sharing successes of our friends and clients. We feel that this industry was founded on a lot of class and style and respect and we are in a unique place of opportunity to bring those values to the forefront of this industry once more.
In addition, we really like what we do!! And darn it all, we’re pretty good at it! Josh and I work together very well and so within days, this idea started to blossom and before we knew it, we had a full fledged production going on. We brought in hair and make up, we chose several of our clients and transformed them into Old Hollywood Icons. We had so much fun choosing people and playing with what icons we could transform them into. Josh studied old photography lighting and editing techniques. He looked at the different styles each photographer had. It was an amazing amount of prep work to even get to the shoot days and we loved every minute of it!!!
Three days of shooting later, we realized we had something incredibly special on our hands!!! I could go on and on about this project…and, oh, I will….but well, they say a picture is worth a thousand words….so without further ado…..here is some of our project. ENJOY!!!!
