New Year’s 2014

New Year's 2014

Welcome to a new adventure! A clean slate for four seasons of success and memories. My resolutions this year are to grow our family business and take it to the next level. My hope is that our success inspires others to follow their passions, set goals, and achieve! One thing I know for sure is that I will be better about posting blogs and on other social media. Last year this wasn’t exactly a strength. I invite you to come along with my family and I this year! Please follow us on this blog, Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook. http://www.facebook.com/jtproimaging Let’s make it a party! And the adventure begins!!

Michael Chey

One of our favorite things in this business is to watch and be a part of young talent growing. We’ve worked with Michael Chey for a couple of years now and it has been a pleasure watching him grow as an actor. This recent photoshoot…well he pretty much rocked it. It was clear to us that Michael has grown to be very comfortable in front of the camera. He and Josh work very well together and the range of this talent came through! There is no doubt in my mind you will be seeing more and more of this young man on screen.

Where you saw him last: New Girl and The Tonight Show

Where you’ll see him next: oops, can’t tell you that yet!

Where you can connect with him: http://www.facebook.com/JTProImaging#!/pages/Michael-Chey/212272635449968?fref=ts

Happy Haunting!!

Tonight is the night for tricks and treats

for kids in costumes and in sheets

Tonight imaginations go wild

And everyone gets to be a child

Tonight of witches and goblins beware

We’ll see you tomorrow with lots to share!!!

MUUUHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Modeling Opportunities with JT Pro Imaging

Josh and I love what we do. We are fortunate to be able to wake up each day and be excited for what the work day brings us. We produce a lot of our own shoots, at least once a month but more like twice and that allows for a lot of opportunity for models. If we can help people out with opportunity, that is GREAT!!!

It’s all about setting yourself up for success and the more you are prepared, the more smoothly things will go and ultimately more fun!! In that spirit, here’s all the info you will need to know to shoot successfully with us.

1. ‘Like’ our Facebook Page and watch the postings. This is where we post the modeling opps.¬†We don’t keep a database of models as models change, especially young ones. It’s much better to simply submit for the opportuities that are right for you. We DO think of our clients first and do offer them opportunities as often as we can.

2. Submit as per instructions on the postings. Typically we ask for a recent snapshot and full body shot. We like submissions to go through Facebook. Please read the postings and if you are not right for it, hang tight, there WILL be more opportunity!!

3. Respond quickly and show up for your appointment. One thing I CAN guarantee…if you are a no show, we won’t consider using you again.

4. When we produce our own shoots, it is for our purposes. You will need to sign a standard model release. In return, sometimes you get images. Sometimes you get access to web ready images and have the option to purchase print ready images. Sometimes you get product. It will all be gone over with you when selected. No surprises. ūüôā

5. Friends. Sometimes we will ask  if you have friends available for a shoot. But yes, share our page and let everyone know!!! Shoots are always a lot of fun when people know each other already.

How about opportunities for make up and hair artists?

YES. We love you!! YES there are opportunities for you too!! Again, watch the postings and we’ll let you know. Do you have a splendid idea and need an amazing photographer to work with? Shoot us an email. We ADORE creativity!!! We’ll look it over, talk with you about your vision, and see if it’s a good project for us to work on together!

And Designers?

YES. We love you too!! Please contact us in a personal message with an introduction and we will meet in person (probably over coffee because  really, what is a day without coffee) and we can get to know each other as people and as a business. From there we will discuss what you might need and how best to make that happen!!

Any other questions? We’re always here to answer. So go find us on Facebook, interact with us, and let’s go have some fun!!

Opportunity Knocking!!

We are fortunate to work with some truly amazing people! Talent, passion, and genuinely great folks!! Attitude is Everything

It is a brutal industry. Is there any other industry where rejection is an every day experience? Where hiring decisions are based not only on skills but on a look? height? weight? gender? The answer is no. In fact, in every other business sector, it’s illegal to do so. Is it any wonder we see and hear so much negativity on line and in¬†person? We here at JT Pro are witnessing an alarming trend of negativity on line from actors. Blog posts, tweets, and FaceBook status reflecting depression, falling short, anxiety, and other comments less then positive.

“Aim at the sun and you may not reach it; but your arrow will fly higher than if you had aimed at an object on a level with yourself.”¬†¬†¬†¬† ~F. Hawes

The fact is you reflect your surroundings and everything affects your psche. It sometimes takes a conscious effort to find things, experiences, and people who will push you forward and not pull you down.

Ultimately, you are the key to your own success and happiness. Bottom line is you have to set a higher standard for yourself. If you keep setting the target at arm’s length, you’ll never get to the target at the end of the field. Aim high, and then set reasonable mini goals as steps to get to your ultimate achievement.

Blah blah blah…you’ve heard it before…because it WORKS! Sitting on your hands waiting for the phone to ring is doing NOTHING to push you forward. Doing SOMETHING is better than nothing. Those big roles aren’t coming in yet? Think about theater, student films, deferred payment films. Before you roll your eyes ask yourself what can be gained by these? Relationships? Experience? These are NOT bad things. You’ll never know unless you try.

Surround yourself with positive experiences, with positive people, and give a little out yourself to other people. See what happens…

Facebook Profiles and Pages for Actors

Facebook is an excellent platform for the Actor to use to promote their business. But some people get confused between using their Profiles and their Pages. And now, with Facebook unveiling their new TIMELINE platform, people are all over the place in terms of understanding how to utilize this valuable resource to teir jump their business.
Profiles (timelines) represent individuals and must be held under an individual name, while Pages allow an organization, business, celebrity, or band to maintain a professional presence on Facebook. You may only create Facebook Pages to represent real organizations of which you are an authorized representative. In addition, Pages are managed by admins who have personal Facebook profiles (timelines). Pages are not separate Facebook accounts and do not have separate login information from your profile (timeline). They are merely different entities on our site, similar to how Groups and Events function. Once you have set up a Page within your profile (timeline), you may add other admins to help you manage this Page. People who choose to connect to your Page won’t be able to see that you are the Page admin or have any access to your personal account.
We’ve teamed up with another company, Social Networking Academy to bring you a series of videos and emails geared for Social Networking for Actors. And because this is such a relevent topic and people want more info NOW, we’ve created a Facebook Page using some of these techniques and provide a forum for you to ask your Social Networking questions. There we will post articles and discussions on not only Facebook but other Social Networking ideas and such for you ACTORS!! Remember guys, this is a RELATIONSHIP business. So we encourage engagement, not just sitting back and reading. Like, comment, share…and pretty soon you will be Social Networking all over the place!!
OH, and if you want to get your TIMELINE, there are step by step instructions on the Social Networking for Actors page. Simply give your name and email and become part of the community. Then ‘like the page’ of course, and go to the NOTES Tab. There you will find step by step instructions. YAY for sharing good info!! We look forward to interacting with you all more!!! See you there!
