Social Media For Actors

It cannot be denied…social media is all around us. It’s still truly in its infancy so its still difficult to see exactly where this is all going. What can be said with certainty though, is that it is important to recoginize and as a business or public persona, it is important to learn the ins and outs of it all as we’ve seen it affect people and their careers.

We here at JT Pro Imaging think as actors, this is good news! Never before have aspiring actors had so much access to building a fan base and getting their work out to be seen! For people living in secondary and tertiary markets who want to be seen in Hollywood, this is a great tool to have in the box. For those who live in the primary markets, it bodes well for giving CASTING and other industry professionals a real sense of who you are and what you are all about.

Of course you have to be aware of the pitfalls….good news travels at the speed of a click and it seems bad news travels even faster. An actor under consideration for a role could be googled to see what’s floating around there in cyber space. An actor must be aware of what they post and where they post it.

But let’s focus on the positive!! Social Media is WHERE IT’s AT for actors!! It’s where you build your public persona, build a fan base, publicize your work, meet others in the industry, and create and foster authentic relationships. Stay tuned actor folk!! This blog is just the beginning….we are taking November to really show you some great tips on how you as an actor can use social media to jump start or tier jump in your career!!!! Questions? Bring it!!!!!!!!!!! We are all ears!!!!!!!!!!!!!
